Welcome to Helsingør Nordhavn

With the Kronborg Castle right next door and the Swedish coast as backdrop, you will not be able to find a marina with a more spectacular location. When you add in our excellent service, harbour amenities, bathing beaches and lots of sights and attractions to explore, the stage is set for a terrific stay for both young and old visitors.

Always room for your boat

Helsingør Nordhavn is one of the largest marinas in Denmark, and you can always find a vacant berth here.

The green markers indicate vacantvisitors’ berths, as well as the width of the berth. Larger boats can often find a berth at the end of the piers. Smaller boats can often find berths at the northwest side of Pier 2 (Bro 2).

Marina Office and amenities

The Marina Office is located at the middle jetty (Midtermolen). Harbour fees can be paid at one of the three vending machines located at the Marina Office, the southern jetty (Søndre Mole) and the northern jetty (Nordre Mole). Here you can also purchase stored-value cards for electricity and shared facilities. The Marina Office accepts cash payments.

At the harbour you will have access to a range of harbour services such as slipway, masting crane, fuel supply and workshop/repair options at the harbour’s maritime stores. We are also home to a large boating equipment store.

We offer free Wi-Fi, but due to the size of the harbour you may experience ‘bottlenecks’. In this case, you may need to use your phone provider’s network, or you may use one of the two computers in the anteroom to the Marina Office free of charge.

Groceries and shopping

The harbour’s grocery store is open every day. The nearest Shopping Center is "Kvickly" in Stjernegade. The supermarket Føtex is located in Bycentret at Stürups Plads, and the discount store 365discount is located at Helsingør Station.

A mere 5-10 minutes’ walk from the harbour, you will find the town centre with all you may wish for of stores and restaurants. You should also visit Værftets Madmarked (‘The Shipyard’s Food Market’) that offers delicious street food in the old shipyard halls.

Cosy activities for all ages

In Nordhavn, you will find lots of enjoyable and fun entertainments. During summer, we offer a small but excellent choice of ice cream shops, cafés and stores. North Zealand’s leading art gallery is located in the old shipyard. In the maritime stores, you can purchase a wide selection of boating equipment or have your boat, sails and equipment repaired. Here you can also find whatever you may need for beach visits, fishing trips or diving excursions.

Activities for children

Children can blow off steam at our brand-new playground in front of the harbour master’s office and on the free summer bouncy castle at the middle jetty (Midtermolen).

Another exceptional attraction at the harbour is the large outdoor aquarium ‘Vandlaboratoriet’ – the Water Laboratory. From the jetties, you can look straight down onto the fish life of the Oresund. Catch a crab or get a glimpse of the large flatfish hiding on the sandy bottom. During the yachting season, nature education activities take place at the basin, where the guides of the Øresund Aquarium will feed the fish and give talks on the animals and fish of the Oresund.

The beach "Grønnehave Strand" is located just west of the harbour and offers shallow, child-friendly water and a large beach playground. Off the southern jetty (Søndre Mole), you can plunge straight into the Oresund.

What to do when it rains?

The Kronborg Castle, The Maritime Museum of Denmark and The Culture Yard are amazing places to spend a rainy day, but the town also offers a number of smaller museums. The Øresund Aquarium is located right in the middle of the harbour and is a small museum to visit. You can also visit the Shipyard Museum or the Danish Museum of Science & Technology.

Explore the national park

The harbour is located in the national park ‘Kongernes Nordsjælland’, where you will find many excellent excursion spots. Esrum Abbey and the nature centre Nyruphus are great choices for a family outing. If you are looking for an extraordinary art experience, visit the Rudolf Tegner Museum with outdoor sculptures set in beautiful scenery.
