Island Hopping in The South Fyn Archipelago

Start by sailing around Illum, then nip over to Lyø for lunch and continue on to Avernakø. Here you can spend a lovely evening barbecuing on the harbour front, take a stroll on the beautiful main road traversing the island, or rent some bicycles and get to know the island’s peculiarities.

The Idyllic Screaming of the Sea Gulls

The next day you can sail on to Søby, which is known for its fishing and its shipyard and has an active commercial life and a lot of ferry departures. Each year in July, the fishing port is the setting for the Ærø Single Folk Festival. From Søby, you can continue on to the calm island of Skarø, which boasts a rich animal life. Try one of the world-famous Skarø ice-creams and spend the night before sailing on to Svelmø or enjoying your lunch at Fjællebroen – another one of those charming harbours that can be found all over The South Fyn Archipelago.
